Author Paul Andersen: Book signing, panel discussion, and High Country film screening

Long time former local and author Paul Andersen will be in attendance at the film screening (reserve a spot here), discussing Crested Butte history and signing books.

Paul began his 45-year career as a writer in 1977, reporting from Crested Butte on AMAX, a huge industrial mining venture that threatened the soul of his beloved mountain town. The Town that said "Hell, No!" recounts Crested Butte's unflagging and spirited battle led by an unlikely cast of characters who formed the eccentric ranks of what became a community crusade.

As part of the Crested Butte Community Compass, the Town of Crested Butte is sponsoring High Country, an award-winning feature-length documentary recently released by Crested Butte native Conor Hagen and Ali Batwin. The film tells Crested Butte’s story through the perspective of community engagement and conservation. Join us at the Center for the Arts in Crested Butte, for a free screening and interactive panel discussions with the director and subjects from the film to understand the forces that have created Crested Butte and leverage its power to shape the Town’s future. Visit https://highcountry.eventbrite.com for tickets.
