About the Author


Author James Hill has enjoyed over 30 years as a writer/editor in the comics and licensed publishing fields. Starting out as a writer on Marvel UK’s best-selling Transformers comic, he has also written stories for Spider-Man, Masters of the Universe, The Muppets, Donald Duck, Power Rangers and Doctor Who Adventures. His non-fiction writing includes Marvel Myths & Legends for Dorling Kindersley, Marvel Fact Files, The DC Comics Super Hero Collection, and The Marvel Movie Collection.

Author Nick Jones is a pop culture writer and editor based in Lewes, East Sussex. He has written Guardians of the Galaxy: The Ultimate Guide and DC Comics Cover Art for DK, and numerous features for Marvel Fact Files, and co-authored The Mysterious World of Doctor Strange, and The DC Comics Encyclopedia. As editor, his credits include the DC Heroes & Villains Collection graphic novel series, the Star Trek: Picard Official Collector’s Edition, The Art of Neil Gaiman, and Alan Moore: Storyteller.

Based in Brighton, UK, Matt Taylor’s vibrant, evocative artwork has graced posters, magazines, book covers, newspapers and advertising for a wide variety of high profile clients, including Marvel Entertainment, Lucasfilm, San Diego Comicon, Mondo, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Amazon Studios, BBC, The Atlantic, MTV, The New Republic, 20th Century Fox, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Amazon Studios, Pearl Jam, Penguin Books, The Elvis Presley Estate, Chivas, Adidas, Urban Outfitters, Sony AMC and Van Morrison.

Andrew DeGraff, Maine based illustrator and pop culture cartographer, has carved out a creatively rich niche with meticulously intricate maps that follow the paths of major characters in iconic movies. In 2018, his second book, Cinemaps: An Atlas of 35 Great Movies, won the Frankfurter Buchmesse Film Awards "Best Illustrated Book on Film". When he's not teaching illustration at the Maine College of Art, Andrew works for various clients such as Visa, Sports Illustrated, Kellogg's, MacWorld, TimeOut, GAP Kids and Leo Burnett. His gallery work has been shown in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Calgary, Mexico City, and the Philippines.

Working from his London studio, Adam Simpson’s conceptually stylized, stunningly detailed artwork ranges from stamps for the Royal Mail commemorating the London Paralympics to large-scale murals for the Hilton Hotel, and everything in-between, including film posters for Universal Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox, as well as illustrated books for Penguin Books, the Folio Society and Laurence King. Other clients include BAFTA, British Airways, Coca-Cola, Canongate, Esquire, Wired, Harper Collins, Hollywood Reporter, Levi’s, Nike, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
