Marcelina Noss was born in Leyte, Philippines to a province family of nine children and two parents, Her father was a very content farmer working the land with a song in his heart. The family primarily grew corn, tobacco, rice, coconuts and other staples using primitive farming techniques. Early in her life, Marcelina dabbled in her father's farming, but was drawn more to the market places where she would sell her father's tobacco to the villagers. Her mother was a strong woman as well as a naturalist where she practiced herbal medicine and master ancient healing methods. After high school graduation, she attended college at Leyte National Agriculture College, Leyte, Phillippines where she earned her bachelors degree in agriculture and education.
